+1 Science Uncle Acquired

Imagine how wary Bruce would start off around the very excitable and loquacious teenager that is Peter Parker.

Imagine how humbly flattered Bruce would be as this child rambles on about how they have his picture up in the science classrooms in Midtown High and Peter has read all his articles and based his own experiments on some of Bruce’s ‘safer’ work.

Imagine Bruce actually being impressed that this child has made this advanced webbing using just some chemicals found in the Chem lab in his school, and goggles that prevent sensory overload, and has mastered physics just enough to swing around a city on a string and not end up flattened against a building or the pavement.

Imagine Bruce and Peter sitting quietly after a hard day and just having this understanding between them that the quiet is enough, maybe with some mugs of tea.

Bruce doesn’t take kindly to Peter being bullied when Peter tells him.  If Peter isn’t scared of him, he shouldn’t have to be terrorized by some puberty-afflicted youth with poorly realized low self-esteem.  Bruce was introduced to Flash after acting as a guest speaker at Midtown High; though he acted friendly enough, Peter still isn’t sure if he really saw that flash of green in Bruce’s eyes…

Bruce is very interested in the fact that technically, Peter is a mutant.  Bruce does ask him a lot of questions about this, and is fascinated by his advanced metabolism.  With Peter and Tony and May’s permission, Bruce spitballs some numbers and does some tests with Helen Cho in case Peter should ever need to be put under anesthesia for a procedure.

Bruce is so grateful for the fact this /child/ isn’t scared of him.  To have someone to work in a lab with that is just a bit easier to talk out of bad ideas and other headache inducing things than Tony (Bruce loves Tony to death but sometimes he is a handful).

Imagine Peter rambling on about this new robot he and Ned are thinking about building, and apart from adding his two cents every now and then, Bruce just smiles (a real, tickled pink smile) and listens attentively.
