BATIM’s Timeline (Finalized)

Now that Chapter 5’s come out, I figured doing a finalized version of BATIM’s timeline couldn’t hurt. Version 1 is here and version 2 is here.

NOTE: Some events in the timeline are inevitably going to be based on theories. I’ve tried to keep speculation down to a minimum, but points that are based solely on theories and may or may not have happened have been marked as such.

• 1929 – Joey Drew Studios opens (confirmed by the official website).

• Henry creates Bendy within two weeks of the studio’s opening (Henry’s Chapter 3 tape)
• Henry leaves in the “around 1930” (archive room).

• Studio expanded greatly – likely areas include Heavenly Toys (which Henry says he doesn’t remember) and Bendy Land.
• 1932-1933 (approx) – Ink Machine (CK1) is installed.
• First early attempts at cartoons were made, including the soulless Bendy (Chapter 5 Thomas tape).
• Joey realizes cartoons need souls. Sacrifices begin, starting with Susie (Chapter 5 Joey tape). Grant, Lacie, Bertrum, and Norman are also killed (names on coffins).
• Ink Machine CK2 is bought and installed (Chapter 2 blueprints – Alice’s dialogue indicates she was originally made with the CK1 and then the CK2).

• 1933 – Studio shuts down due to bankruptcy – Grant’s tape implies it was probably due to the Ink Machine (date provided by Mike Mood – Meatly tweeted that Wally’s keys have been in the trash for 30 years and the current date is 1963 as seen on Joey’s calendar).

NOTE: Timeline splits at this point. Joey’s story branches off on its own at this point, separate from the events occurring IRL.

IRL Timeline:

• Sometime before 1963 – Joey steals the Ink Machine from the studio (Allison’s letter).

• Joey does the conceptualizing for BATIM’s plot.
• Joey creates all of the characters needed for the plot and brings in the IRL sacrifices.
• BATIM starts for the first time.
• Henry goes through the loop over 800-some times, presumably over the course of several years.
• 1963 – Date of BATIM as we know it, 30 years after the studio shut down (Calendar, Joey’s letter).

• Loop continues from here.

Story Timeline:

• 1933 – Presumably due to the studio going out of business, the rest of the employees are sacrificed.
• Joey gives his soul to the soulless Bendy (theory).
• Bendy touches Alice’s face, deforming it.
• Allison and Tom take down Bendy and turn off the Machine
  (theory).
• Henry enters the loop for the first time sometime around 1960.
• 1963 – IRL BATIM date of the gameplay, and Henry’s 800+ time through.

• Loop continues from there.

3 years of constant loop??? OH MY GOD!
